The Shayok Family Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2023 by Marial Shayok—Ottawa’s first NBA draft pick, 2024 Olympian, and professional basketball player—with a clear mission: to develop the next generation of basketball stars who are not only exceptional athletes but also outstanding leaders. We are committed to empowering Ottawa’s youth through basketball, creating programs that foster lasting growth and success.

Our elite coaching staff goes beyond teaching the game—they serve as mentors, guiding athletes to develop the mindset and skills essential for success in all aspects of life. We are dedicated to shaping young leaders who will inspire positive change, leading with purpose, passion, and perseverance.

Through initiatives like the Shayok Summer Showcase, the Ottawa Shayok Next Wave AAU team, and mentorship programs, we provide athletes with opportunities to grow, learn, and develop both on and off the court. Our year-round S.H.I.F.T. program (Shayok. Hoops. Intensive. Fundamentals. Training) takes a holistic approach, strengthening athletes' basketball skills while also building mental toughness and leadership abilities.
